Chamberlain Gardens – Wyoming – October 2016
A fabulous performance by the Ensemble at Chamberlain Gardens with a very special person in the audience. Dorothy Skinner (fondly known as Dotty) was a member of The Central Coast Harmony Chorus for over 20 years and attended many conventions with the chorus over the years.
She is always happy and just loves to sing. To see her smiling face in the audience made us feel so proud to have her there. She tells me she is 85, has lived at the village for 2 years, still loves her music and would not miss a show.
The performance area was a lovely big room and we had a great audience. The Frantastics would definitely love to be invited back to Chamberlain Gardens.
Tighes Hill – Meals on Wheels – September 2016 – TRIBUTE TO BRENDA BRYANT
After a few hiccups with some of the performers getting lost and ending up at Shoal Bay, The Frantastic Ensemble put on one of the funniest Melodramas of all time. THE LUCKY LOCKET was definitely a melodrama in a melodrama with the leading man (Norm) bursting in after the play had started changing into his costume on stage and picking up lines that we had already said.
Performing most of the work that Brenda had written over the years the ensemble sang out and had the audience rolling in the aisles. Even when the piano collapsed one of the audience members got up and held the piano in place for Fran to finish playing while ensemble members secured the piano again. Fran kept on playing and did not miss a beat.
Helen gave a wonderful rendition of “Medieval Make-do” that Brenda has performed many times over the years. Lunch at a local club was great so we could all catch up with Brenda. We will definitely be going back next year.
